Highlights

  • Prepare vegetables and sausage while water boils.
  • Boil pasta and then add in sausage mixture.
  • Toss in tomatoes and seasonings.

Here's one of my favorite, simple pasta recipes.

You can serve it with a basic green salad and  a crusty bread.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces uncooked angel hair pasta
  • 1/2 pound turkey sausage, sliced thin
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 teaspoons basil, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

Bring 2 quarts of water to a rapid boil.

Add pasta and continue boiling for 6 to 8 minutes until pasta is tender.

In a large skillet, saute the sausage, mushrooms, garlic and basil in oil until sausage is browned and mushrooms are tender.

Drain pasta and then add it to the sausage mixture.

Add the tomatoes and seasonings.

Toss gently and heat through.

Top with shredded parmesan cheese, if desired.

Serves two.

I love pasta and I guess I’m not the only one. ILovePasta.org is a popular website all about cooking and eating pasta.

The site is from the National Pasta Organization. (Who knew that organization existed? And how can I join?)

Seriously, the site is awesome. It has over 300 different pasta recipes, as well as tips on cooking pasta, dieting on pasta, and a lot of information about different organizations, expos, summits and meetings concerning pasta. Check it out.
