There are many people out there who are dog lovers. I'll admit that i am one of them. When you love your furry friend as much as i do, you want a photograph of him/her as a lasting memory of their presense in your life. Instead of taking my dog to a studio to be professionally photographed, i decided to do it myself.

Since i have a small dog, i chose to get down on the ground with hi, and take photos at his level.

I also chose to work with a high contrast background. Since my dog has dark fur, i photographed him in the grass by some light colored cement. This technique emphasized his presense in the photo, and makes it so you dont have to find the black dog in a dark photo. I like my photos to be dramatic, and using high contrast and vibrant colors are my favorite effects in photography

The sepia toned photo creates a much more serious photo. I increased the contrast so that you could easily differentiate between the light parts of his fur and the darker parts. I also used took it diagonally to make the photo more interesting than if i had just taken it straight on.

Thanks for the tips. I videotape my Frenchie all the time. I'm going to try out the high contrast background. She's all white. Reply...
