This is a pretty damn easy card trick that really takes no practice or slight of hand and has a pretty impressive finish...enjoy!
You'll need:
- A Deck of Cards
- A Pen and Paper
- A Friend (or even 2 or more....but lets not get ahead of ourselves)
Steps:
- When Shuffling the cards make a note of the bottom card in the deck, for all intensive purposes we'll pretend it's the Ace of Spaces
- Spread the cards face down across the table doing your best to cover the bottom card with the rest of the deck (you want to avoid having this card chosen or the trick won't work)
Now! Have a volunteer point to any card that they may choose...
BEFORE you pick up their card tell them that it's the Ace of Spades (our bottom card in this case) and ask them to write down "Ace of Spades" on the paper you've provided them with
Take a look at the card that you've just picked up as they're writing (we'll call it the King of Hearts as an example)...just try not to make a big deal of it or a perceptive and intelligent person might pick up on the trick.
Ask your volunteer to point to another card and tell them before you pick it up that it's the King of Hearts (in our example) and ask them to write that down as you look at the next card you've picked up.
Repeat this one more time so you have 3 cards in your hand...starting with the King of Hearts that you said was the Ace of Spades...
To finalize everything say that you will be picking the final card. Pick the bottom card (which is the actual Ace of Spades in our example) and once again before you pick the card tell them that it's the 3rd card that they chose and place the bottom card in the front of the pile of 3 cards you already have to ensure that everything is in order. Once again do this while they are writing down the last card on the paper as a distraction.
THE FINISH!
Ask your volunteer to read off the 4 cards that they have written on their paper. If you've done everything correctly you can hold the 4 cards face down and uncover them in order which will match up exactly with what is read off.
So yea, really easy trick that has a cool finish, doesn't take any practice and is really hard to figure out as long as you distract them sufficiently with the writing....rock.
