Stick around for page two: is this video a fake?
On the other hand... I dont believe that rationality and skepticism and a mechanistic explanation of the universe are enough. I do believe the glory of human rationality is to portray a universe that has profundity, complexity, and mystery beyond our comprehension at all times. I even believe, from my study of quantum mechanics and cosmology, as well as AI, that the more we know about the depths of science, the more it leads us to an appreciation of the need for a transcendent, intelligent, creative Power. I'm not talking about the trivial infantile gods most literalists are so attached to. I'm talking about a God whose existence provides an explanation more elegant, rational, and parsimonious (obeying Occam's Razor), and fits the data better, than the mess given us by superstring and multiple universes theories and the unsatisfactory explanations of what preceded the Big Bang.

I like page three. Glad I stuck around. I don't agree, but you make the case for belief succinctly. Also Capt Disillusion on page 2 is my kind of skeptical rationalist. Reply...

Yeah, but there's something to be said for skeptical mysticism. Maybe we'll create a whole new school of philosophy. Reply...
