I am one of those odd people… I actually enjoy timeshare
presentations. I like seeing the properties and how they are decorated.
I am not buying one and I know it… but I love manifesting free show
tickets and other perks this way! No sooner than we got to the Luxor —
we were already being hit up!

They offered us tickets to Mama Mia!, an aquarium at Mandalay Bay and several others… all we could say is been there done that!

Then they offered strip shows… ah… no.

We wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show, and then suddenly they ponied up the Cirque tickets!

Now we’re talking! We signed up for Ka!, paying only a small amount for the $100+/each tickets.

Then we walked down the Strip. The next thing I knew my husband was
signing us up for yet another presentation! - This is not like him! He
does not usually share my fondness for these presentations. They make
him stress! He doesn’t like to be put on the spot, doesn’t like to say
“No”. I am in sales. People tell me “No” all day long… I have
no problem telling someone “No”–”Thanks but No.” Let’s just say he was
highly motivated! The carrot of the Cirque shows got him!

The second presentation netted us tickets to another Cirque Show: Mystere… for even less!

The day of the presentations we first went to the Grandview at Las
Vegas property to net our Ka tickets for Wednesday night. The property
was nice enough but we weren’t buying anything. In the sales pitch they
even incorporate the conversation every couple has before going to the
presentation. “Which one of you said don’t ask any questions, let me do
the talking” How clever. We weren’t tempted.

The manager came over offered another price - lower. We said no
again. We went to another department to speak with someone on the way
out and they offered us an even lower price! (The moral of the story
here is this: If you are going to buy the property — don’t
take the first deal offered!) We said no again and finally they gave us
our vouchers and sent us to the bus. The only bad comment I have from
this presentation was — it was supposed to be a 2 hour presentation if
we asked no questions. They started late and it dragged on a bit. Then
we had to wait for the bus to get full to go back!our total time tied
up was double what we expected… but we got our Ka Tickets!!!!

The second presentation was by Tahiti Village! We had just enough
time to get there (with a little tag team action on our part to get to
MGM to secure our Ka tickets!) But we made it!

The Tahiti Village folks get high marks for respecting our time.
They got the show rolling right on time. The general presentation was
to the point and not belabored. It was almost even enjoyable. When we
introduced ourselves, the sales people gave all military service people
a standing ovation… it seemed sincere and was a nice touch, I thought!

Our salesperson was Patience. She was good. She presented well and
concisely, called her manager over, when we declined the manager
countered with another deal, which we again declined. That was it… they
got us our tickets and got us on our way quickly! The properties were
beautiful!

In both presentations and all previous timeshare presentations that
I’ve attended, there is some “smoke and mirrors” you vacation for only
$199 per week in beautiful condos! Of course there is an annual
maintenance fee of several hundred dollars which never seems to get
accounted for. Not to mention the actual cost of the property! They
pass that off with a “you own that” like it is actual real estate.

I personally have never felt the overwhelming need to own a
timeshare. We have rented them in the past for a song, from folks who
don’t use their weeks, and will continue to do so in the future, when
we have the opportunity!

I do have to say… if you have a chance to go to Tahiti Village for a
presentation, go for it! As long as you can say “No” if you aren’t
interested. They do a great (and relatively quick) presentation and are
respectful.

Our favorite show was Mystere! Cirque really puts on a spectacular
show! Mystere’s theatre is smaller and more intimate. The performers
are amazing! Both shows are visual spectacles and a real treat! (…and you can see them for next to nothing compliments of a timeshare presenter!)

Caution: If you are one of those people who can’t say “No” these will be the most expensive shows you ever see! LOL!
