It's posted land, owned by the New Jersey Thruway Authority (or whatever the official name is) and Conrail (now owned by CSX).&nbsp; It's not particularly hidden, and not difficult to get to. But it's not in-your-face visible either. While there's a great deal of&nbsp; vehicular traffic over the area, there's not much traffic -- vehicular or foot -- along the side streets where you can access the area. A few homeless people live back here as well, though the number has gone down since some of them had their stuff burned out.</font></p><p><font size="3">&nbsp;</font></p><p><font size="3">All of which is to say, this is art created in limbo. It exists because some folks want to create it, and this is where they can do that. The writers -- as graffiti artists call themselves -- are trespassing on this land, as are the homeless and photographers and anyone else back here. The graffiti is allowed to stay here because it's not bothering anyone.</font></p><p><font size="3">&nbsp;</font></p><p><font size="3">But, there's more desire to write than there are walls on which to write. So turnover on some of these walls is fierce. I took these pictures over a year ago. The alien (4th photo down) is gone.
