(pictures coming soon...)

In creating this piece, it is my hope that no one on SpongeFish will ever buy a pair of shweet

sneakerson eBay, only to find out that they are fakes. Nothing is more aggravating that bidding, waiting for the bidding to be over, waiting for the shipping, waiting for the shipping, waiting for the shipping, and finally opening some crustyass box with some plastic, paper machet Jordan's with the jumpan logo all fucking lopsided and shitstiched. It's BS and it stops here.

HOW TO SPOT FAKE SNEAKERS ON EBAY (Jordans, dunks, af1s', etc.)

These are just a few quick, simple tips to help you sniff out what it is and what it aint on eBay

If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Sorry.

eBay is a good place to find deals on a lot of good things. But with Nike's, a good deal is usually either on a) unpopular models that are kinda fugly, b) fake colorways that don't exist, or c) completely scammed goods. You get what you pay for, real talk. Jordans especially, if you think you're about to buy some for under $100, you are def trippin. Dunks and AF1s are the same. I know it's hard to swallow, but there is no free lunch for hot sneakers. if there were, we'd all be rocking the hottest shit. But that's not the case, and you gotta shell out if you want the goodness. Don't get caught looking at some super exclusive snakeskin Jordan retro 5's that are only bidding at $50.00 with a few hours left. Most of the time, you'll know it's real by the price tag.

PICTURES. you need a lot of pictures. one small, grainy picture is a telltale sign of shoddy merchandising. What you want it someone who has mubltiple close up shots with little paper placards with their eBay user ids. Those guys are legit, and they receive my infinite blessings.

Seller ratings...

There are sellers out there that sell only fakes but still have near
high volumes of sales and 100% feedback, so be very
careful. Any sort of negative feedback is a definite warning sign, but
also go through and peep their previous transactions (look at other kicks they've sold. if they look sketch, it might be shady ops).

Know your shit. If you don't know what you're looking for, it's pretty easy to get scammed. Some people spend all day at the shops, on niketalk, looking and knowing whats good about anything and everything. Chances are you're not that person. But at least be able to know that that yummy neon green, black, crimson, spackel, purple elephant skin colorway you're looking at is not a true colorway. Meaning, there are lots of knockoff colorways/editions that look exclusive and real tite, but they're actually fake. Don't fall for it. Check sites like pickyourshoes.com (they sell like all the colors of everything ever) or niketalk.com (they are all about nike all day) and make sure that what you're looking at is the real deal.
