I knew I should have hired a professional to do this when I instantly had 2 gouges in my shins, pain in my ribs, a banged-up finger, and a very deep gash on the bridge of my nose with lots of blood on the floor. So much for redecorating my own bathroom. I guess making the walls look "Roman", putting sand in the paint makes for a mess. It also helps the ladder slip if you put it on loose sand that ended up on the floor. And to top it off, we did not go with that color anyway. We changed it so all that work, AND PAIN, was for naught. Reply...

when I decided to simply replace the out-dated built-in appliances in my kitchen...only to find out that the replacements I spent $1000s of dollars on would not fit into the space (I mistakenly assumed that there was a standardized size for such things - much like a dishwasher...not so!). I was without a kitchen for 2 months while I searched for replacements that would fit (still thinking I could do it myself and save a buck) only to later discover that these were customized and either I would have to order customized appliances or completely rework the cupboards -- either way, buy the time I finally did call in the professionals -- I ended up paying a hefty price. I did not save even 1 dollar. Do not try this at home. Unless you ARE the professional. Reply...

when a planned single weekend to install a frontyard three-circuit automatic sprinkler system turned into three long weekends of hacking juniper roots with a hand axe on my knees while the ditch witch just sat there and my neighbors all came by to laugh. Reply...
