when he showed up with a double cheeseburger in hand.
"In case you were fat, I bought you apple slices. But since you're not, here's a cheeseburger."
Now, I consider myself a pretty funny person. Quick-witted and acid-tongued, it is a rare occasion where I am bested.
But here I was - mouth agape, staring in disbelief.
And I let out a sound that was part laughter and part groan.
I met him through Match.com. I had only spoken with him on the phone once. Over the course of the conversation we figured out that we had a mutual interest - sarcasm. We both agreed to try and embarass the other when we finally met.
Knowing that he was short, my strategy involved wearing five-inch heels so that I would be a towering 6'1".

we got to the movies for our "1-on-1 date", only to meet up with a big group of other people, including this other girl who was much prettier than me and whom I'm sure he liked better, or if he hadn't before, did that night, thanks to the beautiful dress she had on (I of course just wore jeans, since we were just going to the MOVIES!!).
