It keeps going and going and going...

I've never felt so vulnerable sitting inside of an SUV.  Surrounded by several two thousand pound giraffes that seemed to be coming out of the brush like ants out of a flooded anthill, I sat frozen in my seat.  Facing my friend sitting next to me, I watched as her pupils grew to what seemed like the size of quarters.  I slowly turned my head to see what she was looking at, and there it was: an eighteen inch giraffe tongue (and the accompanying string of saliva) stretched out directly in front of my face.  I slowly raised my camera and snapped the shot, which immediately got the bull's attention and led to him trying to grab on to the strap hanging down my arm.  What a lovely feeling.  He eventually gave up the fight and moved on with the herd...but not before leaving another long string of sticky saliva down my arm.  At least I could breathe again.
