I would love to know how to make the best smoothies! Reply...

It is SO easy. I make them either on weekend mornings or weekday evenings and store in the fridge to take to work:
1. Scrounge up all the odd fruit pieces in your kitchen (mushy banana, half eaten peach, almost forgotten kiwi in the vegetable drawer) and drop them into a blender.
2. Add 1/2 to 1 cup of fat-free yogurt. I like trader Joe's vanilla or plain is great because the fruit sweetens the mix!
Fill to 1 inch from top with whatever fruit juice is in the refrigerator. We usually blens orange, apple, and Newman's Own grape (made in heaven! or bought at Costco).
3. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of flax seed or any other essential supplements that you like.
4. Hit the blend button and go bruskh your teeth and get ready for bed.
5. Store the smoothie in a Nalgene container. I drink mine from 7am until noon and polish it off for my lunch most days.
Note - shake up the container before you drink: yogurt will separate. I lost 25 pounds just by eating pure fruit and fruit juice smoothies this summer with fatfree yogurt and flax seed. I eat a usual dinner at the end of the day. Reply...

This weekend I will make one of my lessons on How to make a Smoothie - hopefully in time for the contest! I would LOVE and iPod : )
I have started taking photos with lesson visuals in mind. On Thursday I went to the RAFT in San Jose and decided to take photos for a lesson on Teacher Resources. i definitely have to try out the Create tool - since i have all the photos ready to upload. Reply...

We seem to have received similar advice although I like your variation. Ray Bradbury was the first person I heard say mine in a guest lecture he gave while I was in college. He offered as proof his comic book collection which he started when comic books began. I'm sure the comics made him happy but the fact that it was worth a fortune must have put a smile on his face, too. Reply...

Yes we do - as a matter of fact your philosophy is what I tell my students when they say they "tried" an assignment and somehow don;t have it completed : ) growing up in a stressful family made me realize early that happiness was an important prusuit (those Constitution guys got that part right - too bad they messed up so badly on the guns part). Comic books were the catalyst for my love of reading - if I'd been left with the Dick & Jane series I would have turned away in boredom from the whole idea! Reply...

What kind of yoga do you recommend? Reply...

I recommend the basic moves/poses for about 20-30 minutes a day while watching TV or other activity (stretches while waiting for copies in the copy room). I watch the Daily Show every night and have a rule that I MUST do yoga poses and stretching during my TV time. Try the dog, warrior, and happy baby - my favorite. Reply...
